Notes |
The Glens Falls Fire, April 28, 1884, was the second "great conflagration." It started in the Union Hall building at top of the Glen Street hill, and spread to the 900-seat M.B. Little Opera House, through "Murderers Row," and across Glen Street to Warren Street, where it destroyed the larger, 1400-seat Glens Falls Opera House and the First Presbyterian Church. Glens Falls was without an opera house after this fire. This photograph was part of a private archival collection collected by Alexander Miller, Superintendent of the Glens Falls Schools. |
