Handwritten in pencil on verso, " Man with horn; James McGredy, driver; Dave Fowler, at front wheel; Edward Casavant (bell boy at Lake House), next in front of man with horn, C.W. Cool." There was a David Fowler who drove the mail wagon from 1897-1910 and lived at 11 Hudson Ave. There was an Edward Casavant who was the prop. of Hotel Ruliff in 1897 and removed to Albany in 1899. There was no James McGredy listed. (BS, 1989) This photograph was part of a private archival collection collected by Alexander Miller, Superintendent of the Glens Falls Schools. |
