Notes |
The original federal style hotel was built in 1855 by New York architect, Thomas Thomas and builder, Franklin Wright. In 1868, the hotel was remodeled in the French empire style by T.E. Roessle & Sons of Albany. The hotel burned in1909. In 1911, it was replaced by a colonial revival style which was torn down in 1969. The Fort William Henry Motel now stands on the site. This print is listed in Stoddard's "Catalogue of Photographs of New York Scenery," 1877. |
